MIDI file does not play due to MIDI features not enabled for MIDI device.
Cause:
MIDI features are not enabled for the MIDI device.
Solution:
Select the 'Use MIDI features on this device' radio button on the MIDI sequencer 'Properties' dialog box.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'Multimedia' icon. (The 'Multimedia Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Click the 'Advanced' tab.
5) Double-click 'MIDI Devices and Instruments'. (The branch expands showing all installed devices.)

6) Select the desired MIDI sequencer and click 'Properties'. (The selected MIDI sequencer 'Properties' dialog box appears.)

7) Click the 'General' tab.
8) Select the 'Use MIDI features on this device' radio button, and click 'OK'.

10) Click 'OK' to close the MIDI sequencer 'Properties' dialog box.
11) Click 'OK' to close the 'Multimedia Properties' dialog box.
12) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to exit the 'Control Panel' window.
